Spinner Jordan Postlethwaite took 6-28 as leaders Haverigg made it three wins out of three with a nine-wicket thrashing of Vickerstown in Division One of the Cumbria Cricket League.

Haverigg put their hosts in to bat after winning the toss and the decision paid off, as Vickerstown were bowled out for just 85.

Opener Drew Postlethwaite then crashed an unbeaten 58 off just 50 balls, as the visitors raced to their target in just 17.2 overs.

Furness 2nd XI came through a thriller at Hawcoat Park by three wickets, as Jake Woods took 4-42 for the visitors, who bowled out the home side for 184, with Dave Muncaster (41) top-scoring

In reply, Furness had their wobbles but chased down 185 in the 40th over with Sam Stephens (47) and George Smith (31) their leading scorers.

Brothers Paul and Rob Fugler starred for Kirkby, as they made 62 and 59, respectively during their 79-run victory at home to Lindal Moor 2nd XI.

Their efforts helped Kirkby to an impressive 224-5 before Lindal were bowled out for 145 in reply, with captain Mike Fugler taking a superb 4-14.

Ulverston edged a good game at Seascale as they chased down the hosts’ 144 all out for a three-wicket win.

It was a match where the bowlers shone, as Paul Storey and Stuart Cooper each took four wickets for Ulverston, who were almost denied victory Seascale captain Steve Brown, who claimed 5-44.

The visitors eventually got over the line thanks to an unbroken eighth wicket stand worth 38 between Saqib Gumman and Carl Botterill.

Elsewhere, Cockermouth 2nd XI defeated Workington 2nd XI by three wickets with one delivery to spare as they just about reached their target of 147.
