Hawcoat Park A only lost two games at Askam last week in the Furness and District Women’s Bowling League, with those coming from Edna Latimer and Alison Kendal.

Hawcoat’s Josie Roskell, Joyce Coward and Ann Willison had excellent single figure wins.

Dalton Cricket and Park Shore showed excellent form, both winning 9-3 away at Roose A and Barrow Island, respectively.

Abbey won at Co-op A 7-5, while the only team to win at home were Red River, whose captain Mavis Lakeland won 21-1.West Mount’s best win came through Doreen Cornthwaite.

Meanwhile, Cumbria Ladies will playing their first county match of 2019 on Sunday against against North Warwickshire.
