Ulverston Rangers drew 2-2 with Dalton on Sunday in a result that did neither team many favours in the Under-12s League Championship in the South Lakes Girls League.

Dalton’s goals came from Libby Rafter and Imogen Stoker, but a brace from Ulverston’s Honor Wilson earned a share of the spoils on the 3G pitch at Furness College.

With leaders Morecambe not dropping a point in their six games during the second stage of the season, both sides needed to pick up the three points in order to keep pace.

Instead, their realistic chances of catching them went with this draw, which also marked the first time Ulverston played in their new Hadwins-sponsored kit.

Morecambe moved five points clear of Ulverston, who have played a game more, and eight clear of Dalton after breezing past Wattsfield 4-1.

Grange United are still without a win in the under-12 League Cup after they were defeated 6-0 at home against Kendal United.

Neither of Barrow Celtic’s teams were able to take to the field last weekend, with opponents Lancaster Giants and Kendal United under-11s being awarded home walkovers.

In the under-14 League Cup, Dalton under-13s won 3-1 on the road against Milnthorpe Girls to progress.

Ulverston Rangers will have one last chance to keep themselves in with a chance of hauling in Morecambe in the under-12 League Championship on Sunday when they welcome the leaders to Glaxo.

Barrow Celtic are set to return to action at home to Wattsfield.

In the League Cup, Barrow Celtic under-11s face a trip to Kendal United, while Dalton under-11s welcome Grange United to George Romney Primary School.

At under-14 level, Dalton will look to maintain their unbeaten record at Wattsfield, while their under-13s are at home to Kendal United.
