Millom’s season was the best they have had for a number of seasons, as they finished seventh in Cumbria Division Two, only two points behind Furness and being the only team to beat Silloth this season, albeit in the cup competition.

The young side from Wilson Park, under the guidance of skipper Trevor Dixon, are developing well and in years to come could be the team to beat as they grow the club both on the pitch and socially, as there up-and-coming Sevens tournament and beer festival is a testament to.

Coach Adam Redhead has been over the moon this year with some of the team performances, but like Furness they have been let down on a number of occasions by travelling teams. S

talwarts still pull on the blue and white jersey with Ian Cummings always first on the team sheet and I believe a certain Gordon Parks may have played a minute or two although that could be rumours!

Robbie Pattinson and John Falconer have been key performers for the club this season in the pursuit of glory.

The Ambers of Windermere had a great season finishing fourth in the division and could have finished higher if injury hadn’t taken some key players.

Johnny Benson’s first season as skipper had some great wins both at home and on the road with new players joining the squad all the time.

Victory at home against the old enemy Furness and away at Millom were two massive victories for the club, which helped them finish the season where they did.

Dan Harrison appears to be in the centre of everything which culminated in the club finishing their season on a real high with their recent victory over Aspatria Eagles in the Cumbria Vase final.
