BRITISH Legion added another billiards title to their haul as they defeated clubmates British Legion A to win the George Troth Competition.
First to the table were Allan Edmondson and Ray Gardner, with the latter setting off the better with a 15 break and having the better score rate up the board until Edmondson hit two consecutive 12 breaks.
Gardner added another 12 break to retake the lead, but got stuck in the 60s, with Edmondson producing a 29 break to run out 100-64 winner.
The second frame between Kevin Quinn and Alf Carruthers saw Quinn move into a 20-point lead by the halfway stage.
Another 14 break saw him into the eighties and small breaks saw him win 100-67 to take the title for the 15th time.
The last game was played to a finish between Mike Smith and Colin Taylor, with Smith forging ahead at the end of the game with a 20 and a 12 break to win 100-76.
