I GOT in to a little trouble a couple of weeks ago regarding my criticisms of the RFL, so it is only fair that I can report some positive news.

Sky Sports have now agreed to screen the Summer Bash in Blackpool, which is great news for the profile of the Championship, but also the clubs have been given permission to each sell perimeter advertising space.

So a local sponsor has the opportunity to get their business on over 10 hours of live TV, giving them great exposure.

Our Summer Bash kits have been selling well but the deadline for orders is looming and these kits are only available through pre-order. They won't be a stock item on the shelves, so I'm sure they will end up a collector's item.

The club is running Easter Camps next week and there is still an opportunity to sign up. Our three Papua New Guinea internationals will be on hand and they will be joined by Alec Susino. Bookings are being taken at our Scott Street office.

Unfortunately, we saw a big drop in our attendance for the York Challenge Cup fixture and everyone at the club is hoping that this isn't the fans giving up on the team. We need the fans more than ever at the moment.

We may need to strengthen the squad as injuries continue to bite hard, but obviously finance dictates what we can do.

It is probably fair to say that we haven't accumulated as many points as we would have liked at this stage of the season and we face a run of fixtures that will be a challenge to pick up anything.

Leigh Centurions, Toronto Wolfpack, Bradford Bull and Featherstone Rovers is a tough run, but these are the sort of fixtures we want to be involved in. The Championship is really competitive this season and it has probably gone up a notch or two.

I still have a lot of belief in the team. For a 20-minute spell we played some superb stuff against York, but we perhaps need to be more ruthless.

We let York off the hook with some poor options and they took advantage with a couple of late scores that flattered them.

We seem to be low on confidence which is understandable with our run of results but everyone is working hard behind the scenes.

I am convinced that the hard work will pay off, so stick with us.
