THERE was nothing to split the top two in the Barrow & District Junior League under-14s competition when they clashed at Ormsgill over the weekend.

Holker Old Boys Red and Vickerstown played out a 2-2 draw, which means the visitors still lead by nine points with Holker having three games in hand.

Elsewhere in the division, Hawcoat Park Dynamos under-13s were 5-1 winners away to the older team from Crooklands Casuals.

Meanwhile, Furness Rovers set up a derby clash with Furness Cavaliers in the under-14s Knockout Cup after beating Vickerstown Blues 7-2 in the remaining quarter-final.

Ulverston Rangers strengthened their grip at the top of the under-12s league with a 7-2 win at home to Walney Island, while Dalton United were 8-0 victors away to Barrow Celtic.

In the cup, Crooklands Casuals Oranges under-11s and Furness Cavaliers completed the semi-final line-up with wins in their last-eight matches.

Crooklands won 6-4 at home to Hawcoat Park, while Cavs' youngsters won 4-1 away to Swarthmoor. They now face each other for a place in the final against either Millom or Crooklands' under-12s.

The Knockout Cup took centre stage in the under-16s division, with two quarter-final matches taking place.

Holker Old Boys Greens under-15s caused a bit of an upset as they defeated second-placed Furness Cavaliers 3-0.

The other tie saw Walney Island under-15s beat Furness Rovers 2-0 on penalties after the sides drew 2-2. Meanwhile, Hawcoat Park were given a walkover to the semi-finals by Crooklands Casuals under-15s.

The only league game of the day saw Crooklands' 16s beat Hawcoat's under-15s 2-1 at home.

In the South Lakes Girls League under-12s, a hat-trick from Imogen Stoker, plus one apeice for Lucy Coward, Libby Rafter, Alice Satterthwaite and Molly Wood saw Ulverston Rangers beat Wattsfield 7-2.

Dalton beat Lancaster Giants 1-0, but Barrow Celtic were beaten 5-1 by Morecambe.

Two goals from Kate McKenna saw Dalton under-14s beat Wattsfield 2-1 as well.
