A WHITEWASH of Navy Club in the final saw Barrow Football Supporters Club claim their sixth Ted Phizacklea Four-Man Darts title.

The Soccer Bar team won 4-0 in the repeat of last year's final in the decider at British Legion, having beaten Vickerstown Cricket Club 4-1 in the semi-finals earlier in the night.

That match saw Mike Fletcher get the ball rolling for BFSC in the first game against Gareth Willis, scoring 137 and finishing on double 16.

Brian Tucker drew Vickerstown level in the second with a win over Harry Bateman, including a highest score of 140 and an 82 checkout which saw him end on double 19.

It was all BFSC from then on though, with Scott Hadwin leading all the way against Jimmy Allen to put his side back in front with a highest score of 121.

The battle of the captains saw Mike Edwards put BFSC on the verge of victory as a 140 and another ton score set him up to finish on double four.

And victory was sealed by Fletcher and Hadwin in the pairs match, with the former knocking up on double top.

Their opponents were Navy Club, who edged out the hosts 4-3 in the first semi-final.

Ian Goodwin put Navy ahead by beating Legion captain Shaun McPoland, but Keith Moscrop replied for the home side, beating Dave Simpson.

A 128 and 101 helped Dave Rafferty restore Navy's lead as he defeated Alan Fraser, only for Legion to draw level again when Dave Macmillan checked out on 70 to beat Chris Kirkby.

Goodwin and Kirkby defeated McPoland and Macmillan in the first doubles match, but Moscrop and Fraser got Legion back on level terms again to send the game into the final team match.

Navy had the better of it though, with Simpson hitting the winning double.

It was one-way traffic in the final, however, and Fletcher got BFSC off to a good start again by finishing on double 10 to beat Simpson.

A cagey match between Bateman and Goodwin saw the former take the win on double 10.

A 135 set Hadwin on the way to a win over Kirkby and captain Edwards secured the title by checking out on double top against Rafferty.

This Friday is the Barrow Friday League billiards play-off between Legion and Legion A, plus the welch don third and fourth place play-off between Navy B and Roose Cons.
