FIRST takes on second in the Cumbria Shield tomorrow as Hawcoat Park host Whitehaven, writes Jason Meadows.

The Maroon & Whites have a few enforced changes due to unavailable players, but up front John Donnan, Andy Kent and Paul Woodburn take on the opposition front three.

The rest of the pack needs confirming, with Grady Slater and Rory Sayle the likely second rows followed up bay Callum Ramsey, Brad Morrow and Jason Priss in the back row.

Jack Shannon continues at scrum-half with Scott Kaighan looking to distribute the ball from fly-half.

Benji Platt And Jack Lord are the finishers out wide with skipper George Smith looking to join the line from full-back, and Chris Burns and Lewis Sayle in the centres.

Hawcoat's A team are at home in the North West Intermediate League as well, hosting Rochdale 3.

Ryan Brown will lead the front row with the rest to be identified and the second row will be in the hands of Corey Dougherty and Martin Kennedy.

Peter Jennens, Austin Meadows and Peter Matthews are likely to be the back three, with Richard Dalton and Mark Woodburn available too.

Scott Garnett and Adam Williamson are in contention at scrum-half, linking up with Joe Dalton at fly-half.

Jason Milby is hopeful of a start after becoming a dad and will be looking to Jake Rigg or new signing Danny Scott to make an impact from the centres. Jay Crowe, Jack Lord and Keenan Cotton make up the squad.

In Cumbria Two, Millom are looking to finish the season off on a high with two home games and one away which are all winnable.

Kieron Rogan, Ian Cummings, and Dean Doyle all returning will strength the pack up, while Chris Park, Peter Moore and Ryan Carter return in the backs and will be hoping the weather is kind to them so they start playing their free-following rugby again to get a few points on the board.

Windermere travel north to take on Wigton, with Jamie Hardman, Dan Harrison and Luke Todd the men upfront. Josh Dawson moves to second row, with Greg Meschino, Adam Hague and Johnny Benson in the back row.

Moses Dawson moves to centre, with Bobby Davis and Tom Atkinson out wide and Daelon Hernandez at full-back.
