THE two Furness Premier League Premier Division frontrunners go head-to-head to tomorrow afternoon as they seek to open up an advantage over each other.

Bootle and Kirkby United are deadlocked at the top of the table on 48 points each, with tomorrow's visitors Kirkby top on goal difference.

The match at Bootle will not decided the title by any means, but victory for either side will give them a three-point advantage with five games left.

Keeping a close eye on proceedings will be former champions Croftlands Park, who have three games in hand on the top two and are just five points behind them.

They face a trip to bottom side Furness Cavaliers reserves, who are desperately trying to claw back points in the battle to avoid relegation.

Fourth-placed Vickerstown reserves still have an outside chance of being crowned champions, but their focus tomorrow is on the Furness Senior Cup quarter-finals.

They make the trip to West Lancashire League Division One side Askam United and are the last FPL outfit standing after Holker Old Boys reserves were knocked out by Walney Island.

The other Senior Cup match sees an all-West Lancs Division One tie as Ulverston Rangers take on Crooklands Casuals.

There is a derby clash in West Lancs Division Two as well, with Dalton United at home to Furness Rovers.
