BRAD Singleton helped Featherstone Rovers to a 42-14 victory at home to Batley Bulldogs on his debut for the Betfred Championship side.

Dropped from the Leeds Rhinos team following their 26-6 defeat to Warrington Wolves in their Super League opener just over a week ago, the Barrow Island product was sent to Featherstone on dual-registration terms.

Singleton was immediately handed a start by Rovers for yesterday’s clash with Batley and made an immediate impact at Post Office Road.

The prop was among eight try-scorers for Featherstone as they rebounded from a defeat in their first game of the season to triumph at home to Batley, with Watson and Ase Boas. Thompson Teteh, Cameron King, Conor Carey, Brad Day and Cameron Smith all going over as well.

Meanwhile, Brad Walker was involved as Widnes Vikings made it two wins from two with a 36-24 victory away to Toulouse Olympique in Saturday’s only Championship game.

The former Askam junior was on the interchange bench for the match, which saw Widnes come from two points down at half time to take victory against the French outfit.

Anthony Gelling ran in two tries for the Vikings, with Liam Hood, Ted Chapelhow, Danny Craven and Ryan Ince scoring too.

Former Barrow Raiders hooker Dean Parata was among the try-scorers for Toulouse.
