HARCHESTER United completed a memorable league and cup treble as they beat Instant Noodles in the Jamie Bainbridge Memorial Trophy final at Pulse Soccer on Sunday.

The United squad had already wrapped up the league and Knockout Cup heading into the match, having lifted the latter with a 3-1 victory over Noodles the week before.

It was Noodles who made the better start in the rematch and after going close early on, they took the lead when Chris Wraighte chipped the ball to Sam Davies for him to volley into the bottom corner.

But Harchester got back on level terms just before half time when Kurt Robertson played a one-two with Dean Crossman and slotted past Noodles keeper Sam Williamson.

Buoyed by that equaliser, United made a fine start to the second half and could well have been ahead had it not been for the frame of the goal denying them on three occasions.

At the other end, Stephen Neale made some find saves to keep Noodles out and Harchester eventually got a second when Crossman sent Kyle Delves clear followed by him smashing home.

Noodles’ response was immediate though and skipper Joshua Jones fired them back on level terms with a shot from distance.

But with five minutes left, Robertson set up Crossman to slot home what turned out to be the winner for Harchester.
