JP Stanway helped lift Holker Old Boys back out of the North West Counties League First Division North relegation zone in a 3-0 win over Daisy Hill.

In the West Lancashire League Premier Division, Vickerstown picked up a handy point on the road at Blackpool Wren Rovers, but it could have been all three had they not conceded an 87th-minute equaliser by the home side.

Danny Keenan scored just after half time to put Vickerstown in front and the visitors missed several other chances.

It was a tough day for the area’s sides in Division One, where Jordan Rayner double could not stop Askam United losing 3-2 at home to CMB.

Hawcoat Park lost 2-0 at home to Eagley and Millom were edged out 2-1 away to league leaders Lytham Town.

Ulverston Rangers, however, bucked the trend with a great 4-0 win on the road at Stoneclough, where Chris Bolton, Sean Mooney, Jack Gardner and Zach Milby were their scorers.

In Division Two, Furness Cavaliers fell to a 5-0 defeat away to Kendal United.
