ONLY three games survived the wet weather on Saturday, all of which involving sides from the area in West Lancashire League Division One.

One of those was at Longlands, where Crooklands Casuals were 3-0 winners over Kendal County.

Ben Phizacklea put the hosts in front with a penalty, which was followed by prolific scorer Dave Mansergh added one and Jasper Carey getting the other.

The result means Cassies are seventh in 14-team league table as the West Lancs League goes into its two-week break.

Elsewhere in the division, Millom enjoyed a superb 1-0 win away to leaders CMB.

Jamie Pattinson got the only goal of the game which means the promoted side sit eighth in the table at the mid-point of the season, four points behind Cassies.

Hawcoat Park were unable to take advantage of that loss for CMB and close the gap on the leaders having tasted defeat at the hands of Lytham Town, who are now second.

Elliott Moore was on target in the 3-1 loss that see’s Hawcoat slipping to fourth in the table. However, they do have the luxury of games in hand over the sides above them.

Holker Old Boys’ trip to Nelson in North West Counties League First Division North fell victim to the weather too. They play again on December 29 at home to Prestwich Heys.
