HOLKER Old Boys face the first of two important away games tomorrow as they aim to kick on after climbing out of the North West Counties League First Division North bottom two.

JP Stanway was the hero for Holker last Saturday after grabbing both goals in their 2-1 win at home to Bacup Borough.

Kevin Watkin’s side now travel to Ashton Town full of confidence following that result, which has put them three points above the relegation zone.

Ashton have lost their last two league games and are just below last week’s vanquished opponents Bacup in the standing.

Watkin will no doubt be keen to see how bottom two Daisy Hill and Atherton LR fare at home to AFC Darwen and Prestwich Heys respectively.

Closer to home tomorrow, Kirkby United and Bootle aim to retain their advantage over the chasing pack in the Furness Premier League Premier Division.

The top two are now six and five points clear respectively, with leaders Kirkby travelling to Holker’s reserves and Bootle hosting Swarthmoor Social.

Should either slip up, third-placed Croftlands Park will be aiming to take advantage in their home game against Britannia.

There is a derby clash when Vickerstown reserves host Walney Island reserves, while Hawcoat Park reserves play Furness Cavaliers reserves and Dalton United reserves welcome Millom reserves.
