Knowing how rare positive feedback can be I’m a firm believer in credit where credit’s due and the people who work in the NHS deserve to be praised where it’s warranted.
I recently visited the Day Surgery Unit at Furness General Hospital for a hernia repair operation and wanted to pay tribute to the people who cared for me. They were all wonderful and I couldn’t fault any of them but there were two individuals who stood out.
Firstly, the very lovely nurse Janice Corr whose friendly and down-to-earth bedside manner helped me feel much more normal and at ease post-op.
She took the time to sit with me when she undoubtedly had a million and one other things to do and despite the pain caused from laughing her jovial and funny personality Made me feel much better.
Secondly, and I apologise sincerely for not remembering her name, but a massive thank you to the young nurse who very kindly wheeled me all the way to the entrance at A&E when my lift wasn’t able to walk up to the ward because of a tired toddler. It sounds like a small gesture but I can’t undervalue the time she took out of her day to help me.
Thank you to everyone involved in my care and with the greatest of respect hopefully I won’t be visiting again any time soon!
