A TRIP to Serbia is one of the possible outcomes for Millom when they go into the draw for next year's Challenge Cup first round a week today.

The Woolybacks are the only team from this area to be entered into the 2019 edition of the knockout competition, although West Cumbrians Distington, Kells and Wath Brow Hornets are included as well.

Also among the 52 teams for the first-round draw are Red Star Belgrade, who are the reigning Serbian domestic champions and are making their debut in the competition.

Wales, Scotland and Ireland are represented too, with Torfaen Tigers, Edinburgh Eagles and Leinster outfit Longhorns flying the flag for their respective nations.

Teams from the Army, Navy and Royal Air Force will be joined by the British Police too, along with 31 National Conference League teams, four from the south of England, and two each from the North West Counties and Yorkshire Leagues.

The draw takes place at 5.30pm ahead of the clash between England Academy and Australian Schoolboys, and will be streamed on the BBC Sport website.

The 2018 Challenge Cup saw Millom drawn at home to Scottish side Strathmore Silverbacks in the first round, with the hosts winning 36-18.

They followed that up with a 24-12 win at home to Bradford Dudley Hill before going down 32-16 away to Pilkington Recs.
