JAMIE Pattinson and Carl Waters fired Millom into round five of the Lancashire Amateur Cup with a 3-1 win at home to Rochdale St Clements.
Pattison netted twice and club record-scorer Waters made certain of his side’s progress, but was a disappointing day for the rest of the area’s teams in the county cup.
Furness Cavaliers lost a one-goal lead and ended up going down 3-1 to Highgrove, with Lee Simpson being sent off after picking up two yellow cards.
Walney Island were beaten 4-2 away to Amateur Cup holders Winstanley St Aidens, Zak Walker getting the consolation for the visitors, and Hawcoat Park lost 2-1 away to Old Mancunians.
In the West Lancashire League Premier Division, a superb half-volley from Danny Cummings proved enough to give Vickerstown a 1-0 win at home to Hesketh Bank.
In Division One, Dave Mansergh had got Crooklands Casuals back on level terms against Stoneclough, but a goal in the final 15 minutes saw them lose 2-1.
Askam United won 4-2 at home to Eagley and in Division Two, Johnny While (2) and Gareth Jones fired Dalton United to a 3-0 win over Kendal United while Furness Rovers lost 5-0 to Horwich St Marys Victoria.
Holker Old Boys lost 3-1 at Shelley in the North West Counties League First Division North, with Nath Reid getting an 80th-minute consolation.
