LEADERS Kirkby United face another test of their title credentials in the Furness Premier League Premier Division tomorrow when they host defending champions Hawcoat Park reserves.

The hosts, aided by a four-goal haul from Sam Pinnegor, moved three points clear at the top of the standings last Saturday thanks to a 5-2 win at home to Walney Island reserves.

Hawcoat, meanwhile, go into the match after returning to winning ways with a 2-1 win at Britannia thanks to two goals from Tom Hammond and will be eager to narrow the five-point gap between themselves and Kirkby.

Second-placed Croftlands Park suffered only their second league defeat of the season last Saturday and are aiming to bounce back when they travel to Haverigg United, along with keeping an eye on how Kirkby and Hawcoat Park.

Bootle, currently third, are mounting a title push of their own too and have picked up some eye-catching results, and are back in action in a derby at home to Millom reserves after a week off.

At the other end of the table, there is a crunch clash between Britannia and Furness Cavaliers reserves, with both teams locked on eight points and looking to pull away from the relegation places.

Bottom side Dalton United are away to Walney Island reserves, hoping to add to their solitary win so far.

Meanwhile, the other match sees Holker Old Boys reserves host Vickerstown reserves.
