GREG Richards has secured a return to Super League after joining newly-promoted London Broncos on a two-year contract from Leigh Centurions.

The 23-year-old prop from Great Urswick was in the St Helens team which won the Grand Final in 2014 and has made over 70 Super League appearances.

Richards is London’s third signing since clinching a return to Super League following the capture of ex-Huddersfield and Leigh prop Nathan Mason and Sheffield Eagles hooker or half-back Matty Fozard.

And the former Barrow Island youth player cannot wait to get started, saying: “I am really excited to join London Broncos.

“The club has a fantastic mentality, and the way Danny Ward and his team put their trust in the players in the Million Pound Game was something I watched and thought I wanted to be a part of.

“I am looking forward to a new environment and who wouldn’t be happy to be playing in the capital with what seems to be a great bunch of lads.”

Richards joined Leigh from St Helens for the 2018 Betfred Championship season, and went on to make 26 appearances and score three tries during his year playing at Leigh Sports Village.

Broncos head coach Danny Ward is delighted to have Richards on board, saying: “Greg is only young, but his experience will prove invaluable as we work our way through next season.”
