HOLKER Old Boys have a good opportunity to put some points on the board tomorrow when they travel to Atherton LR in the North West Counties League First Division North.

The match pitches the bottom two sides in the division against each other, with both aiming to claw back the four-point deficit on the teams above them.

For Holker, the match represents a chance to do the double over Atherton, having already beaten them 5-0 at Rakesmoor Lane last month.

On that occasions, two goals from Chris Wraighte, plus one apiece for Joe Bradbury, Nathan Reid and Robbie Wallace secured all three points.

Holker go into the match having suffered a 1-0 defeat away to Cleator Moor Celtic on Tuesday evening, with the hosts snatching the win in the 88th minute.

In the Furness Premier League, Kirkby United are aiming to close the gap on leaders Croftlands Park, who are in Lancashire Amateur Cup action.

Second-placed Kirkby are at home to Millom reserves, while defending champions Hawcoat Park reserves look to keep the pressure on too when they head to Holker’s second string.

Elsewhere, Barrow Celtic host Furness Cavaliers reserves, Bootle head to Dalton United reserves a week after putting seven past them, Swarthmoor Social welcome Britannia and Vickerstown reserves and Walney Island reserves face off in a derby.
