JIMMY Allen was in dominant form for Vickerstown CC against Roose Cons in the latest round of Barrow Friday League fixtures, winning both table games and his matches in darts and welch don.

Allen had the edge over Nick Wilkes at snooker, winning 51-42, with team-mate Josh Francis scoring a win over Lee Major.

Dave Kewley pulled one back for Roose, winning 63-38 against Paul Fitzpatrick.

League leaders British Legion were beaten 2-1 at Navy B.

Ray Gardner survived a fightback from Dave Wilkie to win 54-46 and put Legion ahead, but victories for Jack Arnold and Joe O’Leary over Andy Charnley and Mike Smith respectively saw Navy win 2-1.

BFSC beat British Legion A 2-1 on their home table, with top man Adam Cook coming from behind to win 58-50 against John Tyreman and Steve Redpath storming to a 42-3 win over Billy Burns. Dave Simpson picked up Legion A’s point.

Allen continued his form on the billiards table, secuing a 3-0 win for Vickerstown by beating Mike Irving. Captain Gareth Willis and David Holmes were the cricketers’ other winners.

Kevin Quinn won the decider against captain John Clamp to give Legion a 2-1 win over Navy B. Allan Edmondson got Legion up and running with a win over David Simpson and Paul Kyle replied for Navy by beating Colin Taylor.

Legion’s A-team defeated BSFC 2-1 as well. Paul Fieldhouse and Burns, who got revenge over Redpath for his snooker defeat, were their winners and the returning Josh Howarth got the football supporters’ point.

Vickerstown took a 6-1 win at darts, with Allen, Gareth Willis, Brian Tucker, Fitzpatrick, Holmes and Bob Crosthwaite (100) triumphing. Ray Cooney (135) was Roose’s victor.

Navy B went top of the darts league with a win by the same scoreline. O’Leary (100), Dave Rafferty (100), Chris Kirkby (116), Wilkie, Simpson (100) and Charnley all triumphed.

And Legion made it three 6-1 wins thanks to for Keith Moscrop, Dave Macmillan, Steve Hetherington (100), Tony Macmillan, Simpson (100) and the player of the night Mala Mccoy (180).

Legion A took maximum points at welch don, winning 8-3 against BFSC, as did Vickerstown in their match against Roose Cons.

Meanwhile, Navy B just had the edge over Legion to emerge 5-4 victors.

Along with Allen, the treble winners on the night were Edmondson and Holmes.
