Injuries have bitten hard for Barrow AFC at times this season and they are again set to be without five players for their tough away match at Harrogate Town tonight.

Striker Nathan Waterston is out long term with a shoulder injury, while there is some mystery over what is currently afflicting Jacob Blyth, with manager Ian Evatt saying more information is needed in that particular case.

The Bluebirds have missed the leadership of Josh Granite in their last two matches, with the club captain sitting those out to give a niggling toe injury the chance to recover.

Evatt said: “We’re not sure if we’ll have any players back, we’ll have to see.

“Josh Granite could possibly be available, but it might be a week too soon for him.”

There will be some good news on the injury front soon, though, as defender Matt Elsdon and forward Rhys Turner are both nearing returns, which would certainly give AFC more of a physical presence.

Elsdon hasn’t played since injuring his knee on his debut at Halifax Town on August 7, while his fellow summer signing Turner fractured a metatarsal in his foot at Leyton Orient four days later.

Evatt said: “The good side of it is that Rhys Turner is getting there and is about a week or two weeks away, as is Matty Elsdon. They’ll give us some size and physicality at the back and up front.”
