ONE Hawcoat Park Table Tennis Club player has come to the aid of his club by sponsoring some new playing barriers.

The club have four teams playing in the first division of the Barrow & District Table Tennis League, with home matches on Monday and Wednesday evenings.

Keen player and long-standing Hawcoat Park member Andrew Murphy, commercial director at LECK Construction, has now come forward to sponsor new barriers which will help create a better environment for playing in.

“I am proud that LECK Construction, who have strong ties with BAE Systems, have been able to make a donation to the club to purchase new barriers,” said Murphy.

“I am only too aware of the need that clubs like Hawcoat Park need all the help they can get.

“We must support local facilities like we have at Hawcoat Park to allow these sporting clubs to continue and thrive.”

Club member Raymond Adams is grateful for the support provided, which will help give the teams a more professional look during matches as well.

“The donation supports the Hawcoat Park clubs ambitions, to provide the section with the best possible facilities for playing table tennis, and the new surrounds will help achieve this objective,” said Adams.
