JOE Bullock will not be getting too carried away if his new Wigan Warriors team-mates go on to defeat Warrington Wolves in tonight’s Super League Grand Final.

The prop, who is leaving Barrow Raiders after four seasons to join the four-time Super League champions on a three-year deal, will be at Old Trafford this evening cheering Wigan on.

But while Bullock hopes he will be starting out at the Warriors with them defending the trophy, his main focus is on making sure he is ready to hit the ground running in pre-season training.

“I’m going down, so it will be nice to see if they can get a good win and maybe I might be playing in the World Club Challenge next year,” said Bullock.

“But my time with them starts in November when pre-season starts.

“So however nice it will be to watch my new team-mates be successful, I want to make sure I’m kicking on for November and being a part of everything which goes on from there.”

Bullock is, however, relishing the prospect of starting the next chapter of his career with a team which could be defending champions in 2019.

“That will add an extra bit of pressure because everyone will be gunning for Wigan then, but that’s one of the reasons why I wanted to go there,” said Bullock.

“When they were first interested, it’s too good an opportunity to turn down going to a club like that. Most years they’re challenging for a trophy or win one, so it was a no-brainer to go to a place like that.

“You don’t just want to play Super League, you want to win trophies as well because that’s what you dream of when you’re young and it definitely gives me that opportunity.”
