MILLOM begin their defence of the Furness Senior Cup with a derby against Askam United tomorrow - and will no doubt be hoping for a quieter afternoon than last Saturday.

The county cup clash with Longshaw at Hanna Field was abandoned in the first half, so Danny Pattinson and his team will aim to banish those memories.

They have already beaten Askam on their own patch in West Lancashire League Division One this year, although the visitors will be feeling confident after seeing off Mostonians 6-0 in the cup last week.

Furness Premier League leaders Croftlands Park are among those from the competition aiming to cause an upset against West Lancs sides when they head to Furness Rovers.

Of the others, Britannia face a tough task when they travel to Division Two high-flyers Walney Island and Bootle host Crooklands Casuals, fifth in Division One.

There are two other all-West Lancs ties, which see Dalton United at home to GSK Ulverston Rangers and Furness Cavaliers hosting Hawcoat Park.

The two all-FPL matches see Division One side Barrow Wanderers host Premier Division Vickerstown reserves and Swarthmoor Social at home to Holker Old Boys reserves.

There are two FPL Premier Division matches as well, with Barrow Celtic at home to Furness Cavs reserves, and Hawcoat reserves playing Walney reserves.
