HAWCOAT Park are seeking to break their duck in Cumbria League One tomorrow when they host Upper Eden.

Park are currently propping up the table in the new-look county competition, although just three games have been played and they will no doubt see the visit of Upper Eden, who have just one win to their name so far, as a good opportunity to get up and running.

It is therefore expected to be a close-fought encounter and everyone at Hawcoat will have their fingers crossed for a home win.

Club captain George Smith lines up at centre this week, with Scott Kaighan taking the reins at fly-half.

Also returning will be James Howden, playing at scrum-half, but with Ash Mowatt and Paul Woodburn missing in the forwards, there are a few changes up front.

The front row has Andy Kent, Adam Grainger and John Donnan at the helm, with Matt Robson and possibly Mike Lightfoot in the second row.

Jason Priss returns to the back row, playing alongside Jack Sutherland and either Matt Sayle or Chris Milby - depending on the result of a late fitness test for Milby.

Ryan Clegg is the pick on one wing, with Elliot Mcdonald back in the fray on the other.

Benji Platt keeps his 15 shirt and Chris Burns plays in the centre with skipper Smith.

Hawcoat’s A-team have a full squad to pick from as they host Blackburn thirds in North West Intermediate League Division Four North, with a number of former colts returning to the side.

Even so, there are a few changes due to holidays and work from last Saturday’s emphatic win over Bolton thirds in the cup.

Mark Hall and Patrick Sarmiento return to the front three, joining regular Ryan Brown, and youngsters Corey Doughty and Jordan Bayliff are the men tasked with the second row duties.

Harrison O’Brien’s man-of-the-match performance against Bolton sees him continue in the back row alongside Rory Sayle and Peter Jennens.

Scott Garnett is likely to play with Euan James in the halves, although the return of Will Coles and Rowan Smedley means there is competition for places there.

The same can be said in the centres with Conor Tyrell, Connor McDermott, Eric Hill and Jason Milby all vying to start.

Johnny Moses, Johnny Hutton, Adam Armstrong and Martin Kennedy are also available, so final selection will be interesting.

Hawcoat A have had a mixed start to the league season, with two impressive wins and two defeats. Meanwhile, Blackburn head to Barrow aiming to add to their sole league win so far.
