Carl Pearson scored his second four-goal haul in consecutive matches in the Furness Premier League Premier Division as Hawcoat Park reserves beat Walney Island reserves 4-2. Luca Fleming and Kane Moffett replied for Walney.

Kirkby United moved up to second place with a 4-2 win over Holker Old Boys reserves. Huw Barton scored a hat-trick and Sam Pinnegor was also on target.

The youngsters from Vickerstown reserves were the match winners again, as they beat Swarthmoor 2-0. Two of last year’s under-16 side, Brody Luxon and Max Green, were the scorers.

Bridge United are top of Division One and helped their goal difference with a 12-3 win against Vickerstown A. Josh Greenwood (5) Callum Kendall (2) Sam Davies (2) Reece Craig (2) and Thomas Bradshaw gave Bridge the emphatic score line.

Shaun Dixon returned from three seasons out injured for Croftlands Park reserves and marked his return with both goals in their 2-1 win at Barrow Celtic reserves.

Barrow Wanderers beat Crooklands Casuals reserves 7-1, as Dan Turner bagged a hat trick. Scott McDonald (2) and Dylan Scullion (2) were also on target.

British Legion won a feisty affair against Furness Rovers Res 2-1. Adam Spence got on the scoresheet for Rovers. Jake Haughin and Coen White were the Legion match winners.

Hawcoat Park A won 4-0 against Millom A. Elliot Maxfield (2) Sam Fell and Matt Boyd were the Hawcoat scorers.

Kirkby United reserves are still to taste defeat in the league this season and sit top of Division Two thanks to a 5-2 win at Haverigg United reserves. Cam Boyd (2) Tom Harrison (2) and Cam Cooper were the Kirkby scorers.

Britannia reserves beat Barrow Wanderers reserves 6-0, as Ross Walker scored a hat trick, with Liam Holmes, Sam Woods and Sean Sweeney rounding up the scoring.

Holker Old Boys A beat Furness Rovers A 4-3. Brendan Trainor (2) and Joe Loughlin were on target for Rovers but a Conor Erdis hat-trick and a goal from Holker veteran Paul Southward made sure of the points.

Millom St James registered their first win of the season with a 3-2 home win over Walney Island A, as Bri Moore, Chris Scott and an own goal gave Millom three points.

It was the first round of the Terry Clinton Memorial Trophy for lots of our local teams on Saturday and holders Bootle made sure they were in the hat for the second round draw by opening their defence with a 13-1 home win against Britannia.

Graham Hartley and Andrew Knowles both scored hat-tricks for the rampant hosts, while Oliver Smith (two), Aaron Bradley (two), Steve Pritt, Matty Clarke and an own goal completed the rout. Paul Dennison scored what was the scantest of consolations for the Brit.

Furness Premier League Premier Division leaders Croftlands are out after a 1-1 draw against Haverigg United went to the dreaded penalty shoot-out, which Haverigg eventually won 5-4.

Luke Chmiel scored in normal time for Haverigg before Ben Mooney replied for Croftlands to send the tie to the shoot-out.

Millom reserves are another team through after a 3-2 win at Dalton reserves.

Keith Holmes scored both of Dalton’s efforts but Chris Wood, Andrew Woodburn and an own goal gave Millom a place in the next round.

Furness Cavaliers are out after coming up against a rampant Barrow Celtic, who scored ten goals without reply.

Rob Johnson lead the way with five goals and James Sloan grabbed a hat trick, with Jack Duignan and Hugh McParland rounding off the win to bring up double figures.
