TWO under-21 internationals are likely to be in the Barrow AFC squad for this afternoon’s Vanarama National League game away to Boreham Wood.

The Bluebirds have brought in Rory Holden and Rhys Norrington-Davies on initial one-month loan deals from Sky Bet Championship sides Bristol City and Sheffield United respectively.

Holden is a forward who City have high hopes for after he joined them from League Of Ireland side Derry City last summer.

The 21-year-old has just come from representing Northern Ireland in their recent under-21 international matches, playing in the 2-1 win over Spain in Albacete on Tuesday.

He also scored the winning goal in the victory over Luxembourg a few days earlier.

Meanwhile, Norrington-Davies is a left-sided full-back who has been away on international duty this week as well, featuring in Wales Under-21s’ 2-0 defeat to Portugal in Bangor on Tuesday.

The 19-year-old began his career at Swansea City, but joined United on a permanent basis last year following a successful trial spell.

The pair have spent the last few days training with Ian Evatt’s Barrow squad prior to being signed and their loan deals went through in time for them to feature against Boreham Wood.

The news will no doubt come as a boost to Evatt, who had stated he was looking to freshen up his squad with some new signings in time for the match.
