TONIGHT’S inter-town match between the Barrow under-19s and their counterparts from West Cumbria has been moved from Craven Park to Askam.

The clash was originally due to be held at the home of Barrow Raiders, but has now been switched to Fallowfield Park because of floodlight issues.

The kick-off time has also been put back from 7pm to 7.45pm.

The Barrow side, which is being coached by the Raiders’ Australian forward Alec Susino, will be without two players named in the initial train-on squad.

Barrow Island’s Matty Brown misses out due to injury and Askam’s Keir Sheppard is unavailable.

The match doubles up as a trial for this year’s Cumbria under-19s squad and county coach Dave High will be keeping a close eye on both sets of players as he ponders who to choose for the inter-county Tri-Series against Yorkshire and Lancashire.

Cumbria under-19s will also play Scotland’s under-19s in a friendly at Wath Brow on Sunday, September 23. Kick-off is 2pm and admission is £2.
