Warning signs asking drivers in Ulverston to reduce their speed have been 'maliciously' removed from the area.
The Ulverston and Lakes Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) shared details of the theft on Friday, September 27.
The 'wide and slow' signs have only recently been put up to promote 'awareness and the safety' of horses and their riders on the highway.
Members of the NPT confirmed last week that the installations had been stolen from the Pennington Lane area.
They are now asking residents to come forward with any information they might have about the incident.
