A small Cumbrian charity have put together an event to reach Veterans living in Cumbria.
The Michelle Jurd Trust are hosting our third annual Veterans Afternoon Tea in Cumbria.
For 12 years, they have been working to help young people and veterans of Cumbria to experience adventure and exploration and live life to the fullest.
The trust is in partnership with the Not Forgotten Association, who provide entertainment and recreation to the serving wounded, injured or sick and veterans who suffer from a disability or illness.
On Wednesday October 9, they are hosting a free afternoon tea and entertainment for ex-service personnel.
The event will be held at Castle Green Hotel in Kendal, between 1:30pm and 3:30pm.
A spokesperson for The Michelle Jurd Trust said: “We are trying to seek our Veterans who now live in Cumbria who would like to spend an afternoon being entertained, meeting people just like them and having a nice time, partners or carers are welcome.
“We are especially interested in finding those Veterans who may not be online, who may be lonely and less well connected to the world.
“These are the hard ones to find, and we would like your help please, if you come across these people, or maybe you know an organisation that comes across these people, please spread the message. Thank you.”
