A MAN has been sentenced in court after admitting he had beaten up a female.
Sean Dawson, 27, of Holker Street, Barrow, admitted one count of assault by beating at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on September 9.
Court records show the offence, contrary to section 39 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988, was committed in Barrow earlier this year on August 22.
Magistrates took the defendant’s guilty plea at the first opportunity into account and as a result ordered that he pay a £120 fine and £50 in compensation to the victim.
He was also ordered to pay £85 in court costs.
