A new community event is coming to south Cumbria next month to celebrate the lives of older residents.
Organised by The Coro in Ulverston, 'Silver Sunday' will take place on October 6 between 2pm and 4pm and will be free to enter for all members of the public.
The aim of the new event is to to celebrate the experience that comes with 'advancing years' and will feature an array of entertainment, activities, fun and games.
The hope is that it will also encourage older people living in the area to get out of their homes and make new friends, proving that it is never too late to forge a connection.
A number of local organisations will be getting involved, including U3A, South Lakes Rock School, Vintage Bakes, Ford Park, St Mary's Hospice, and Ulverston and District Flower Club.
