A passing volunteer for Coniston Mountain Rescue Team (CMRT) was called to a job outside of her usual rescue area last weekend.
The member works at a nearby location when she was contacted by Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team (LAMRT) around 2pm to assist with an injured hiker.
On August 31 a female walker sustained an ankle injury in the Stickle Ghyll area in Ambleside - which is one of the most popular becks in the Lake District.

A spokesperson for Coniston Mountain Rescue Team said: "One of our Team members who works close to the location, was asked by Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team (LAMRT) to assist with an incident involving a female walker with an ankle injury in the Stickle Ghyll area. She was happy to do so."
The walker was treated and evacuated with help from Kendal Mountain Rescue Team (KMRT) also.
The rescue took two hours in total and included seven team members from LAMRT, plus members from KMT and CMRT.
