A BARROW mum has shared her incredible journey in shedding a staggering three-and-a-half stone.
Carrie Millward, 45, joined a Slimming World group in Barrow because she felt conscious about the way she looked whilst sat on a beach on her last holiday.
She decided to address her weight in order to feel confident in her body the next time she went abroad.
Carrie said beforehand that she was in constant pain and how it was a lot of effort to just walk down the street.
That was until she embarked on the weight loss organisation’s food optimisation plan with the help of consultant Tracey Needham.
“The main positive is that I have so much more energy than ever before,” Carrie said.
“I now enjoy outdoor activities with my children. My health has improved so much.
“Since changing my eating habits, I’m now pain free. I was always feeling lethargic, but now this has all changed and I feel like a new woman.
“My life has changed so much since I walked through the doors. I can’t thank Tracey and all the lovely members enough.”
Slimming World’s food optimisation plan enables members to lose weight whilst still enjoying the foods they love most.
“I love food optimising, Carrie added.
“I get to eat the food I love whilst losing weight. I have a large family, and I only have to slightly adapt the meals I make to suit everyone which is the main positive.
“There’s so many amazing recipes to suit the whole family.”
Tracey Needham commented: “I am so happy for Carrie. To see her grow in confidence has been amazing. She has stuck to the plan completely through her weight loss journey and always has been a supportive member of the group.
“She’s now successfully reached her personal achievement target and is currently working on moving from losing to maintaining her weight loss. Well done.”
