A WORKINGTON takeaway has been handed a new food hygiene rating after an inspection.
The Great Wall, a Chinese takeaway on Moss Bay Road in the town, was given a three-out-of-five food hygiene score following an inspection on March 5.
The inspection found that the establishment's hygienic food handling was generally satisfactory, its cleanliness and the condition of facilities and building was good, and its management of food safety was generally satisfactory.
It means that of Cumberland's 235 takeaways with ratings, 145 (62 per cent) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
A former version of this story inaccurately reported a 1/5 rating instead of 3/5 following information we published in good faith from a third-party content provider, who curated the inaccurate content from Cumberland Council data. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
