BARROW AFC top-scorer Josh Gordon could be involved against Sutton United.

The Bluebirds forward has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since the end of January and last featured for Barrow as a second-half substitute in their 5-1 defeat against local rivals Carlisle United.

However, speaking ahead of the visit of Sutton United, Bluebirds boss Pete Wild confirmed that the star striker could be back in action this weekend.

He said: "Josh has trained all week, really pleased, he has hit all his markers so he comes into contention for Saturday."

Wild also provided updates on the fitness of Elliot Newby and Josh Kay, with the pair set to miss the Bluebird's clash with Matt Gray's Sutton United.

Newby picked up an ankle injury in the 1-1 draw against Salford City while Kay is set to be sidelined with a 'small hamstring tear'.

Wild said: "Elliot has probably got another couple of weeks, so probably in contention for Wimbledon at the end of the month and Josh Kay is hopefully going to be in contention for Harrogate next Saturday."

Rory Feely was also a potential injury worry for the Bluebirds ahead of this weekend's match, however, despite being substituted in the 1-0 victory against Walsall with cramp, Wild confirmed he would be available.

He said: "Everything is okay with Rory, he had a bit of cramp, he has not played a lot of football so he just had a bit of cramp."
