BARROW AFC manager Pete Wild has discussed how he wants his side to be the 'aggressor' when hosts Sutton United this weekend.

The Bluebirds made a fast start last time out with Billy Waters' 22nd-minute strike proving to be the winner in a 1-0 victory over Michael Flynn's Walsall.

Ahead of the visit of inform Sutton United this weekend Wild called for his side to be on the front foot and avoid conceding early.

He said: "That is something that was our Achilles heel at the start of the year. We gave away silly goals and then we could not back into it.

"I think the stats are around 80 per cent of teams who score the first goal get a positive result so it is a massive stat in the league and we know that if we can get that first goal with how we have been defending that allows us to have something to hold onto.

"Within this league, because teams are generally direct it allows you to really bed in and defend them direct balls when you get that 1-0 lead, so it is something we have spoken about, it is something I feel we have gotten better as a team and yes we are the home team on Saturday and we are looking to get at Sutton and be the aggressor."
