A WOMAN from Barrow has made her next step towards landing her dream role as a carer by completing a range of training awards with a local provider.
Tina Taylor has been working with PHX Training on Rawlinson Street in the town centre to complete qualifications that will allow her to find employment.
Tina approached PHX Training after she chose to believe in her own ability to succeed and find permanent work.
She enrolled in a combined course with PHX Training, including awards in Adult Health and Social Care, Principles of Customer Service, Safeguarding and work towards achieving her functional skills qualification in Maths.
Tina said: “It’s been great attending classroom sessions. I have got much more confident in talking to people and I can even be honest and ask for help from the tutor when I need it.
“It’s brilliant to have achieved these qualifications. I have worked hard and now believe that I will be able to get a job in the future. I was worried that I would have to stop learning without a computer at home, so I am thrilled to still be able to arrange to attend PHX in a Covid safe way.”
Dawn Bolam, Business Manager at PHX Training in Barrow, said: “We believe that anybody can achieve their goal with the right support and training and we can help people to gain the basic qualifications needed to find work and make a success of their lives.
“Tina has been a star at completing these courses and her commitment to training and learning has been fantastic. We’ll continue to work with her as she looks for work in her dream field of caring.”
PHX Training operates across Cumbria and Lancashire and has training centres in Barrow, Carlisle, Morecambe, Preston and Blackpool to help people complete training courses to help them back into work.
PHX Training delivers government-backed initiatives including adult skills – Maths, English and vocational courses, NEET (not in education, employment or training) and employability contracts.
