BARROW AFC will be facing Stevenage at the Lamex Stadium on December 2.

The latest match in the Sky Bet League Two will kick off at 7:45pm.

With its rich history, beginning in 1979 after the dissolution of Stevenage Town in 1968, the Stevenage club joined the United Counties League in 1980, winning both United Counties League Division One and United Counties League Cup in their first season.

During the 1990s they were able to achieve three promotions in four seasons, although they won the Conference National League in 1995-96, they were denied promotion into the Football League due to insufficient ground facilities.
They would achieve promotion to the Football League in 2009-10,

Steve Evans’ side currently finds themselves in 2nd place in the competition.

 Stevenage have sealed an FA Cup Third Round place after a Second-Round victory over Kings Lynn Town to set up an away trip to Aston Villa and progressed through in the Papa John’s Trophy where they’ll face Portsmouth in the next round.

The Lamex Stadium has been home to Stevenage since 1980 and boasts a capacity of 7,800.

The highest attendance recorded at the stadium came in 1998, when Newcastle United came to town, with 8,040 people turning out that day.

While Barrow and Stevenage have clashed before, this is the biggest set of circumstances in which they have faced one another.

The last match was in May 2010 with a win for Barrow for the FA title.
