BARROW AFC boss Pete Wild has hailed his side's home form as the Bluebirds picked up their eighth win at the SO Legal Stadium against Hartlepool United on Saturday.

In an interview on the club's official website, Wild said he was delighted by Barrow's fast start:

"One of our biggest traits is how well we start games, and to come out and to add that ruthless edge to that start, was a fantastic way to start the game.

"Sometimes, it doesn't go your way, sometimes it does, and luckily for us, today it's gone our way in terms of our start."

On Josh Gordon's opener, he said: "It was an unfortunate mistake from the goalkeeper - I've been bigging Ben Killip up all week about how good he is, how he makes really good saves, so it's an unfortunate mistake, but its a really good finish from Josh."

Wild was also delighted with Gordon's assist for Billy Waters' seventh of the season, and Barrow's third of the game: "For Bill, the touch of class from Josh Gordon seals the game there in that I love those types of goals - the unselfish nature of it where he squares it for his mate, who gets a tap-in which is brilliant."

"The fans pay to be entertained, and hopefully we entertained them in that first half.

"(In the second half), they got after us, and it's easy to play when you're losing - don't get me wrong, but they had a right go second half, and we didn't match their levels, which is frustrating.

"We tried to throw a load of subs on to get our levels up, but it didn't happen - luckily, we'd done what we needed to do in the first half.

"We just defended, and cleared our lines, but didn't really get our passing game going.

"One of the big things that I wanted to improve this season was our home form.

"Our fans come down, and I want a brand of football that they want to pay and watch.

"Our home form's been key to us, it's why we've had such a good start, and hopefully that can continue across the season.

"Home form is our bedrock - the more points you pick up at home the better."
