HOUSE prices increased more than the average for the North West in Barrow last September, according to Land Registry figures.

Prices increased by one per cent, which contributes to the longer-term trend of 3.6 per cent growth. 

However, Barrow house prices remain the lowest in the North West.

According to the Land Registry, the average Barrow house price in September was £144,666, a one per cent increase on August. 

Across the North West, prices increased by 0.6 per cent, and the prices did not change across the UK as a whole. 

Over the last year, the average sale price of a property in Barrow rose by £5,000 – putting the area bottom among the North West’s 39 local authorities with price data for annual growth.

The highest annual growth in the region was in Warrington, where property prices increased on average by 20.4 per cent, to £266,000.
