BARROW'S goal hero Josh Gordon has said the side showed their adaptability in their 2-0 win at Newport County on Saturday.

Gordon, who put the Bluebirds 1-0 up just before half-time before going on to grab a second, said: "I don't think we started very well, it took us a while to adapt to what our plan was.

"The gaffer wanted us to start fast to put pressure on them, but we just didn't quite get hold of it.

"Sometimes it just takes a goal for us to calm down and get to grips with the game, and that's what we did.

"We went in at half-time one-nil up, and the gaffer wasn't very happy with the performance, but that just shows how far we've come.

"It just shows a different way we can win games.

"We've not started well, they had a lot of possession, but we still look a threat when balls do go forward.

"It gave us a bit more momentum in the second half, knowing that even though we haven't started well, we defended well.

"When we haven't sustained possession, we still kept it out of the back of the net and we've been ruthless in both boxes today."
