THE heartbroken family of a 25-year-old who died suddenly have been ‘overwhelmed’ with donations for his funeral.

Ryan Hughes died suddenly at his home in Vulcan Road, Barrow, on August 23.

His death was a ‘huge shock’ to the family who remembered him as a ‘loving and caring’ man whose smile lit up a room.

Ryan, who had plans to embark on a security course in September, was a much-loved son, brother and uncle.

Amba Hughes described her late brother as someone that ‘lived for the now’ who would do anything for anyone.

The mum-of-one said: “Ryan was a lovely lad from the day he was born. He was the most amazing and caring lad to everyone he met. He was a brilliant uncle.

“We were lucky to have him and you felt lucky to be friends with him. He was just our Ryan. He was funny, some of the things he came out with were hilarious.

“His smile would light up a whole room. He would do anything for anyone.

“His passing has left a huge hole in all our lives.”

After Ryan’s death, his best friend Louise launched a fundraising page to help pay for funeral costs - and give her late friend the send-off he deserves.

Since launching the page, £2,350 has been raised thanks to the kind-hearted donations of friends, family and strangers.

Amba said: “I am so overwhelmed by how many people have donated for Ryan.

“It will help give him a good funeral. We’ve got a few things planned to give him the send-off he deserves. People have been donating a lot.

“It will all be going towards a funeral and wake and then going to get him a plaque as well. It’s a way of remembering him.

“I just want to thank everyone for all the kindness, we feel so overwhelmed with everything and so grateful for everyone who has chipped in to help. It means such a lot at this hard time.”
