James ‘david’ Miller

MILLER James 'David' Aged 83 years, passed away at home in Bardsea on 1st August. Dearly loved husband of Marian, uncle to Sarah and Carey and friend to many. Friends please meet for a service to celebrate David's life at Thorncliffe Crematorium on Wednesday 17th August at 1:45pm. Black need not be worn. Stan Culbert

CULBERT Stan aged 77 years of Roose, passed away suddenly at home. Beloved husband of the late Lynne. Treasured dad of Zoe, dear step dad of Lisa and much loved grandad of Daniel and Lauren. Roy Whatley

WHATLEY Roy Aged 78 of Hill Rise, Dalton. Passed away on 5th August at home with Barbara by his side, after a long illness borne with courage and dignity. Very much loved husband of Barbara, devoted dad of Philip and the late Janette and loving grandad of Angel Louise. Friends please meet for a service on Wednesday 17th August, 10.00 at Thorncliffe Crematorium. Victor (Tango) Vic Buck

BUCK Victor (Tango) Vic, aged 80 of Kirby Close, Askam passed away peacefully on 5th August with Sheila by his side. Dearly loved husband of Sheila, loving dad to Julia, Kathrine, Claire, Catherine and Mark. Dear grandad, brother and good friend to many. Thomas James (Tom) Mcparland

MCPARLAND Thomas James (Tom) It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Tom aged 88 on the 3rd August in Abbey View. Dearly loved big brother of Mary, Susan and the late Frank and Mike. Treasured uncle, great-uncle, brother-in-law and cousin. He will be sorely missed by those who loved him. Fortified with the rites of the Holy Church, a Requiem Mass will be held at St Mary's R/C Church, Duke Street on Friday 26th August at 12 noon. Maureen Anne Taylor [nee Barry]

TAYLOR [nee Barry] Maureen Anne 1945 - 2022 Daughter of the late Ted and Chrissie Barry, passed away on 4th August in Spain, her home for 19 years. Beloved wife of Barry, devoted mother of David, Sarah and Laura. Loving grandmother and sister to Karen. Maureen was from Barrow, and known to many as the proprietor of The Beauty Box hairdressers. Originally working at Maison Baker in Paxton Street and Middleton's in Duke Street, prior to having her own businesses. Leaving Barrow in 1984 to live in Manchester. Will be sadly and greatly missed for her caring nature and sense of fun. " Safe in the Arms of Jesus".

Colin Webster

WEBSTER Colin Aged 77 of Laburnum Crescent, Barrow-in-Furness. Passed away on 1st August 2022, surrounded by his family. Colin will be deeply missed by his wife Wendy, his loving family and many friends.

John Steele

STEELE John Passed away at home on Thursday 21st July aged 79. Husband of the late Elaine. Friends please for a graveside service in Barrow Cemetery on Thursday 18th August 2022 at 3pm.

John Anthony Oscroft

OSCROFT John Anthony Passed away on 28th July aged 84 after a long illness. Loving husband of the late Pauline, beloved dad to Sarah and Tim, grandad to Alex and Fran, a much loved son, brother, uncle and a friend to many. Funeral service to take place at Crosscrake Church at 1.30pm on Monday 5th September. Family flowers, donations for the PSP Association via Hayes and Parkinson Ltd.

John King

KING John Sadly and suddenly fell asleep on 15th July 2022. John leaves behind his wife, Jackie, daughter, Nicky, her partner Nick and grandsons Oliver and Jamie. Thanks to all who attended John's funeral. Heartfelt thanks to family, friends and neighbours for their kind expressions of sympathy, cards and flowers. Special thanks to the ambulance service who attended on the day.

BRAITHWAITE Peter Braithwaite OBE, formerly of Station Road, Sedbergh, passed away at home in East Sussex on 24th July 2022, aged 85. Dearly loved husband of late Brenda, loving father to Susan and Alastair. Peter will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. A service of remembrance will take place at 12:00 noon on Tuesday 23rd August 2022, at St Andrew's Church, Sedbergh, followed by interment of ashes in Sedbergh Cemetery. 

John Lewis Bibby

BIBBY John Lewis On 8th August, 2022 aged 92 years. Deeply loved and loving husband of Kaye, father of Judith, Joanna and Matthew, grandfather of Joshua and a friend to many. Funeral service to be arranged. 

Pamela Perruzza

PERRUZZA Pamela (Pam) passed away peacefully on Saturday the 6th August after a short illness at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. Much loved mum of Christine, Paul, and Stephen. A much-loved mother-in-law, nan and great-nanna who will be greatly missed. 

Brian Wilson

WILSON Brian Passed away peacefully on 1st August 2022, aged 86, in the loving care of Riverside Care Home. Loving son of the late John and Nellie, of Grayrigg Foot Farm. Much loved brother of Jean and Joyce, a treasured uncle and great-uncle. Funeral service will take place at St John's Church, Grayrigg on Thursday 18th August at 12 noon followed by refreshments at the Coronation Hall.

DYKER Doris Passed away peacefully on 4th August 2022 at her home in Grange-over-Sands, aged 94 years. Dear wife of the late Andrew, loving mother of Rosemary, Julie and Paul. ROWSON (DAVENPORT) Ruth Passed away on Tuesday 2nd August 2022. Ruth will be sadly missed by Myra, Mike, Roy, Garry and Allyson, their families and all that knew her.
