MILLOM Town Council's offices will be closed from Monday August 22 to Monday September 5.

In a statement, they said the Credit Union will remain open on Tuesday mornings from 10am to noon during the two weeks of closure.

All issues with bins, waste, council tax and so on are to be managed by Copeland Borough Council on 01946 598 300 option 5 customer services, or email info@copeland.gov.uk.

All highways-related issues are via Cumbria Council Council on their Highways hotline or telephone: 0300 303 2992 option 4 general enquiries.

Town councils fall into the same category as parish and community councils. The councillors look into local issues that are not covered by district or county councils such as allotments, public clocks, bus shelters, community centres, play areas and play equipment, grants to help local organisations and consultation on neighbourhood planning.

They can also issue fixed penalty fines for litter, graffiti, fly posting, and dog offences.
