A COMMUNITY singing group is hosting singing sessions over the summer, with discounts for people in financial difficulty.

The first 'feel good singing' summer session hosted by Song Birds Ulverston took place on July 25. The sessions run on Mondays and Thursdays until Aug 29 with pay-as-you-go or block bookings available.

On Mondays the sessions are at 7.00 pm and on Thursdays they are at 10.30 pm. They are led by Kirsten Taylor.

The sessions promise participants will work on 'breath and body-work techniques to follow with singing to feel connectedness.'

The music will be taught by call and response, with singing in unison, part and harmony. Beginners will 'find their voice in no time.'

The sessions will include warm-ups, learning rounds, circle songs, original songs and genres such as folk, gospel, shanties, blues, soul, jazz, traditional and contemporary.

The sessions are bookings only, with no walk-ins available.
