CUMBRIA'S former Love Island star Jacques O'Neill has revealed he is in a better place mentally due to support from fans.

The 23-year-old chose to end his time in the villa following controversy over the Casa Amor episodes, which see new contestants introduced.

Jacques took to his Twitter to announce he was in a better place mentally since his exit and thanked his followers for their support.

He said: "I just want you all to know that I’m in such a better place mentally.

"A huge reason for that is because of all the love and support I have received.

"I’d be in a much darker place if it wasn’t for all of your kind words, so thank you again I appreciate it so much."

The former Castleford Tigers player said he was worried he would 'lose control' and end up 'getting physical' in the villa so made the decision to leave the show.

Jacques decided to leave the series following the arrival of new bombshell Adam, when he set his sights on his partner Paige Thorne, who Jacques was coupled up with.
