THREE intrepid fundraisers have returned from an overnight trip to the summit of Skiddaw with a generous cheque for St Mary's Hospice in Ulverston.
On Tuesday, June 28, the hospice posted on social media:
"Yesterday, we had the pleasure to welcome Sonja, Jason, and Angela who recently climbed Skiddaw overnight in memory of Angela's Dad Frank Foote, and Sonja and Jason's brother Michael, who sadly passed away in April.
"The weather was not kind to them at all, with torrential rain and gale-force winds, but they were all determined to complete the challenge in honour of two very special people.
"Collectively they raised a phenomenal £1,276.
"It was a privilege to meet these very special people yesterday, and have the opportunity to demonstrate just how much we appreciate them. Thank you."
